I have a magical portal
Available when I choose
Allowing instant transportation
To a dozen different worlds
I can end up in any place or any time
I never know what might happen
There could be an adventure, danger
Or even a romance along the way
One thing is certain I can never stay
No matter how much I may want to
I must return to my world
Carry on my life awaiting the next adventure
Ready to meet new friends or visit old ones
Whom ever I meet their fate is sealed
Set on a predetermined path
With no way to change the future
No matter what happens.
I am the lucky one
I can escape any time I want
By closing the book
